There goes the banana bread

I was saving some mushy bananas so I could make a batch of banana bread. It just worked out perfectly - I had three bananas left unclaimed that were getting all spotty. Apparently Sophie got hungry and started scouting for food. You can see the results. On the bright side, she didn't get any banana on her shirt - so I just changed her pants. Hooray for small victories!

Little Plumber

Sorry, I didn't think I had time to run get the camera while Sophie was plunging our toilet this morning. But, I do have this lovely photo of Sophie after she tried to dress herself.

I was on the phone this morning with someone from work. Sophie wandered off -- as she is prone to do -- so I walked around the house to track her down. I learned from yesterday's mistake, so there were no cereal boxes on the table to dump out today. She wasn't in the kitchen, dining room, living room, or the bedrooms. SOMEBODY left the bathroom door open this morning. My little angel toddled her way in and found lots of fun things to play with.

I walked in on her sticking the plunger into the toilet! Better than her hands, I suppose. The toilet paper was unrolled and all over the floor and my little plumber was plunging away. Life is fun, isn't it?

I can't take my eyes off them!

Sophie is getting a little too tall and she can reach onto the kitchen table. Each day she seems to be able to reach farther and farther. So anyway--I thought a particular box of cereal was sufficiently centered on the tableand perfectly safe from the reach of little miss grabby hands. Think again!

I heard some Sophie like noises from upstairs, ran up to see what was going on, and discovered Peanut Butter Captain Crunch all over the floor. Po was quickly trying to eat as much as possible before his dream situation ended. Sophie had the box upside down trying to get more out. Why! Why can't she just reach her adorable little arm in and pull some out? Why the dumping and shaking of the box? I don't get it. I think she likes the mess. She dumped out an entire box of crackers on Sunday the same way. I personally blame Sophie, but in the back of my head I think that maybe I should learn from these episodes.

Abby has been washing her feet a lot lately. She gets a washcloth, a cup of water, and some handsoap and goes to town. I figure it isn't too big of a deal--but she tends to get carried away. The bathroom door was closed a short while ago and I asked Abby if she was washing her feet again. She replied, "No! I'm washing the window." So proud of herself. I opened the door and, sure enough, she was washing the window. With what, you ask? Two bottles of handsoap and her toothbrush. GROSS!!! What is wrong with this child. Maybe I should make her use her toothbrush without cleaning it off as punishment. What do you think?

Springtime

We have discovered a lot of flowers at our house this Springtime. The irises have just decided to go nuts in the last week and I think they look beautiful. It helps me like them a lot more since they looked really gross after the snow melted. The lilacs smell SO nice too. It's fun to enjoy the sights and smells of Springtime right in my own yard. We even had lots of fun tulips a little while ago.

I took the last picture because I thought Sophie's little wet footprints were adorable. Don't you just love little baby feet?

Happy Spring everyone!

Abby the Ninja

Is this what a ninja is supposed to look like? Abby came to me so I could tie a bandanna on her face so she could be a ninja. She told me I was the teacher for ninja school and I needed to have class. Abby told me to write some things on the board for her to do. I pretended to write some things, and she went off to practice her elite ninja skills. I hear "Sneak sneak sneak sneak" then a series of "Hayaa! Kick! Punch! Yah!". What a good little ninja I'm raising!

Mother's Day

Abby made this in Primary for me yesterday - I thought it was the cutest thing. She actually had two, one for her and one for me. She started nibbling on hers while we were still at church, so I said "Hey! You're eating your flower!." She turned to me and said, "It's okay, it's not real." She cracks me up.

It was a busy day yesterday, but we had fun visiting with our moms and grandmas.

Sophie Steals the Spotlight Again

Sophie keeps doing stuff for me to post up here. I think I need to pay more attention to Abby - get some of her crazy antics up here on the blog.

So, Sophie got into the cupboards today. She poured out the rest of the fruit loops. Then she grabbed a handful of frosted mini-wheats to munch on. Who can eat DRY frosted mini-wheats? Isn't that like eating a bunch of saltine crackers with no water? I don't know, she's a funny kid. I stuck her in the high chair - since she was obviously hungry - and she ate her mini-wheats. I fed her some other stuff too, but I can't really remember what it was anymore. I couldn't find my camera near the scene of the crime, so I took this picture with my handy cell phone. And my dad said I'd never use the camera on the phone!

I'll keep an eye on Abby to get some good material. The video camera might be better for her. You should listen to her non-stop imagination. She also did some entertaining commentating for her pretend soccer game in the backyard the other day. I think I need to construct a hidden camera device. She tends to do weird stuff for the camera - weird in a different way than normal. Anyway, I need to get back to work. Have a fabulous day and make sure you keep your cupboards locked up!
