Silly Sophie

Sophie and Alice were exchanging baby talk today at breakfast. I said something like, "You guys are so silly yelling at each other!" And Sophie replied, "We not yelling, we talking Spanish." Funny kid.

Chomp

Abby got bitten on Sunday - and it wasn't a mosquito. She was sad.

Mother's Day

Mother's day was a good day. Tom made me quiche for breakfast and it was yummy. Abby made me two cards and brought me a bouquet of some random fake flowers she found around the house. Sophie came into the bedroom in the morning and told me "Happy Mother's Day!". I asked her for a hug and she told me she couldn't because she needed to go potty. Then she went into the bathroom and peed all over the floor. I think she just wanted me to not forget what's involved in being a mother.

Abby and Sophie sang in Sacrament Meeting - this was Sophie's second time. I love seeing her little head poking up while she tries to be seen. The girls made me a flower pen in Primary and filled out a little card for me with help from our young women. The front of the card says "Inside your card you will find, Some m&m's (messages for mom) that are one of a kind. Children are genuine, that we know. So cherish each moment as they grow.

Here is Abby's card:

Abby's answers made me sad. Obviously she think I work all the time, which means I'm not spending enough time with her showing her that I do other things too. :( Sophie's answers were fun and some were bizarre. Maybe whichever young woman helped her write her card interpreted her words a little strangely . . .

Being a mom is awesome. I hope I can get better at it and be as good as my mom is. I've always thought she was amazing, it's a little hard to live up to!

Zootastic

I took a half day off last Friday and we went to the zoo together. It was fun - and tiring. They also need more animals. One of the wings was empty so hopefully they do something cool with it.

I'm pretty sure Abby's favorite part was the carousel. Unfortunately, you have to pay extra to ride it. I think Sophie's favorite part was the baby elephant Zuri. She was pretty cute - and small, except she weighs over 400 pounds. Alice's favorite part was when she got to get out of the stroller.

Healthy Children

I just wanted to write how grateful I am for three healthy, beautiful children. My Mom's cousin recently had a baby girl with Trisomy 18 and she passed away just nine days after birth. All I've seen are pictures and heard a small part of their story.

It makes me so sad for them and so grateful for my three little blessings. I know the Lord has a plan for the special little souls who get called back to him so quickly. They are lucky, in a way, to not have to endure the trials we have here on earth. I just feel terrible for the poor families left behind. I am a sucker for reading about pregnancy/birth stories. I looked up a few Trisomy 18 stories and it just breaks my heart. I am filled with gratitude and love for my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. I know we can be together forever. We can be with those little souls who left us earlier than we would like.

I think I'm done crying now.
